Africa Industrial Trade Show Holds Business Executive Forum for Partners, Stakeholders, and Investors In The Industrial Ecosystem
The Africa Industrial Trade Show (AITS) held an executive business forum for stakeholders and investors to meet with local and international partners and agencies and discuss the various opportunities available for the expansion of trade and economic growth in Africa at the event.
Industry representatives talked about current market trends and how they are going to help future companies in the process of growth, through different insightful presentations on promoting collaboration amongst agencies and attracting FDIs. The forum was coordinated by LMI Holdings’ Human Resource Operations & Administrative Manager, Ms Lilly Seyram Kwakwa-Sarpong, and received presentations from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, The Ghana Free Zones Authority, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and LMI Holdings. The forum also served as a platform to engage regional partners, stakeholders, and investors in order to connect all interested parties to opportunities available in the country.
The presentation from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre focused on attracting FDIs to the country to contribute to Ghana’s economic growth. The Ghana Free Zones Authority presented on the Free Zones Enclave industrial regulation leverage which targeted investors who wished to establish their businesses within Ghana’s Free Zones and leverage on the incentives provided. The Ministry of Trade and Industry presented 10-point industrial policy advantages which look at ways to improve Ghana’s industrialisation and build back a better economy. LMI Holdings also gave a presentation on its flagship industrial parks which are currently housing various local and international companies across industries. These industrial parks, namely the Meridian Industrial Park and the Dawa Industrial Park are Ghana’s largest and foremost industrial parks providing a conducive business environment and fully-serviced facilities to enable manufacturing activities within the enclave.
LMI Holdings’ Chairman, Mr. Kojo Aduhene, noted that the company is committed to promoting business opportunities to help stimulate economic development through the establishment of industrial parks while establishing Ghana as a regional hub for trade, manufacturing, and logistics services.
The Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi also remarked on the potential of the Africa Industrial Trade Show in bringing together high-level industry players, stakeholders, partners, agencies and investors to push for ways to grow the country’s industrialisation. He equally noted that Ghana remains the premier stop-shop for investors due to its stable political environment, a plethora of resources including raw materials, a large pool of skilled but relatively low-cost labour, and its strategic location on the continent. The event was graced by Members of the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce including the UKGCC Executive Director, Mrs. Adjoba Kyiamah; Ambassador of the Embassy Burkina Faso, H.E. Pingrenoma Zagre; General Mnager of Dutch & Co, Mr. Herbert Friese; Lecturer from UCC’s Marketing and Supply Chain Mgt Department, Dr. Richard Adu Agyapong among other notable guests.
