UKGCC And LMI Holds Africa Industrial Trade Show Webinar

The UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) and LMI Holdings held a webinar with regard to the upcoming Africa Industrial Trade Show purposely to engage UKGCC members on how they can take advantage of the upcoming trade event. The webinar was attended by the Deputy Director of Investor Services of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mrs. Evelyn A.E. Nyarko, and the Technical Advisor from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI), Dr. John-Hawkins Asiedu.

The webinar highlighted the importance of the AITS including benefits for participants and sponsors. The Africa Industrial Trade Show is a trade promotion event that aims to offer a distinctive platform for regional and international businesses to meet and network to forge long-term partnerships. This event targets multi-sector industry investors across light and heavy industries, diplomatic trade missions, international trade agencies, diaspora community investors, Ministries and Agencies in charge of Trade and Industry, MSMEs, government officials, et al.

The AITS also seeks to proffer brand awareness and trade advantages to businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors locally and internationally from agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, metal fabrication, garment, and textiles industries. This includes a plethora of opportunities for participants to tap from. There are sponsorship and parentship opportunities for interested persons who seek to play such roles in the event as well.

During the webinar, the Deputy Director of Investor Services commended LMI Holdings for this initiative; emphasizing that it was a great opportunity and thus, encouraged all members present to take advantage of the event. She also iterated that the GIPC would leverage the AITS to attract more investors into the country. Ghana’s economic growth is largely dependent on foreign direct investments which fuel industrialisation in the country. She explained that GIPC will be utilising this opportunity to use its network as well as its core competencies to introduce Ghana as a viable destination for investors. Again, she expressed the need to increase collaboration among agencies and industries as she pinpointed GIPC’s efforts in referring investors to the country’s largest industrial parks through LMI.

The MoTI’s Technical Advisor also shared notable takes on the contributions of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Industry and International Trade, the Investment Promotion Centre, and LMI Holdings among others, to promote the country’s high-potential industrial parks. He stated that AITS had become an important platform for investors across Africa to showcase their products and investment opportunities in Ghana. and as such, encouraged participants to visit the company’s website for more information on the AITS and to register for the event.

The webinar ended with remarks from the Deputy Director of Investor Services reiterating her enthusiasm for the Africa Industrial Trade Show and urging all to take advantage of it, and MoTI’s Technical Advisor, sharing similar sentiments.

The Africa Industrial Trade Show is the largest industrial and pan-African trade promotion event that features and promotes Africa’s foremost industrial parks to investors and entrepreneurs. This trade show draws more than 1,000 participants from diverse industries, each bringing a unique experience. The AITS takes place at the Meridian Industrial Park located in the Tema Free Zones Enclave, on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2022 from 9am to 3pm each day.
